True, but simpler =/= fun. Also, the only thing that is simpler about runescape is melee and archer combat. Magic users are horrid to play (mining runestones to then cast on an out of nowhere stone to just be able to cast a fireball is annoying)



GRIND:
Be honest, which one of these 2 games has the most grind?
In wow it's 1-80 and you pretty much have access to every item in game(you have base stats and you get more from the gear you get from quests,mobs and Dungeons) In runescape the gear you get is mostly from stuff you create. Let's see the process for a melee combat dude/dudette
1: Mine Low level ore Run to bank to empty pockets (only had like 20 slots, unless that changed recently)
2: Do you have enough or to do what you needed to do? If so then make item and grind smithing, if not then back to 1:
3: Smith item and see if you can wear it. No? well then move to 4? If yes then you planned ahead and move to 5
4: Raise skills needed to wear that item.
5: Congratulations you can now wear "Iron shield"


In wow:
1: Making an item? or buying/acquiring it from dungeon or quest/auction? If Making item move to 2, if not move to 3
2: Grind professions in order to make item, buy or farm for mats for said item(takes 20 minutes if you are rich enough and only desire to level the crafting profession, also can do it while leveling)
3: Is your level high enough for said item?If so move to 5, if not 4.
4: Level by playing the parts of the game designed for you to have fun and also with friends/randoms.
5: Wear item

Now the funny thing about #4 for wow, is that you can reach to your desired level in a number a ways that I say again.........are fun(also lolololol recruit a friend: level 80 in 2 days).


After writing that I can see that I am heavily biased against runescape, but let me just bring up one more thing.


PvP

Runescape now has that "your target is X" pvp arena and a castle siege thing (members only ha ha ha) Wow has a 10v10 CTF game, a 15v15 King of the hill type game a 40v40 Defense(RUSH LOLOLOL) game, another 15v15 objective based game and a Horde v Alliance server battle (capped at 150-200 players, but still pretty huge).
Runescape is a mmorpg with training wheels with a seemingly unending grind (You have to be thick to actually max out certain skills)

Wow is just the better game. It may be different now, but you would have remembered wow back when Kara was the shit and Hyjal made entire guilds rage (goddamn archimonde)

I tried WoW for years, and really, I tried runescape one afternoon on Kongregate and how it compares, I only have on reason:
People are told about WoW as a geeky, sad, life waster. It's just not that simple, most people have control over their lives on WoW, but there are a few real sad people - you'll get it anywhere. Call of Duty games, WoW games, are the main ones, but I actually find the people who play Call of Duty sadder than WoW, because they are lazy, they are illogical, they are petty fanbois in 2 words.
The only reason people don't think the same is because it has guns and the retarded publicity they give (which Battlefield has much more gameplay and entertainment in, just that people don't hear about it), when it's WoW with magic and elves, oh, it's for 12 year olds! Even funnier since I find more 12 year olds play CoD rather than WoW xD

OT: Playing Runescape is terrible, it is not fluid enough as a computer game should be (even a console game should be more fluid), poor graphics and a severe lack of gameplay, and the full thing u need to pay for. Granted, same with WoW, but other online games (Battle Dawn, Travian, Tribal Wars) do not need a payment for the full thing, only extra things which you already have. WoW is a full package MMORPG which gets better per update - it's not just new encounters or new armor, it adds more social works, more fighting mechanics, more graphics upgrades (aka, the water and sunbeam effects in the next expansion, Cataclysm).

TL;DR Runescape lacks fluidity any game should have (even pacman).
WoW is ever changing, more content and at the same price as it was 6 years ago - that's an obvious upgrade for anything (same amount for more), and its only disadvantage is the fact that people are misinformed heavily.

CoD is crap you nut. And it's people like you that actually make the game look as bad as it is, most people who play it are 12 year old pain in the asses, except CoD4 Promod which actually has balanced weapons(ish, lol) which also takes skill. And you just seem to be the idiot who believes whatever he's told about other games but has an unbreakable faith in the game that sponsers more publicity than actual gameplay, Battlefield, Crysis, Operation Flashpoint, even the oldest of shooting games I find more exciting (Early Battlefield Games or early Operation Flashpoint games)!
In either case, your opinion has been severely influenced without any real experiance in either (albeit I haven't had much in Runescape, yet it really doesn't take that much time to realize, no offense), purely stereotypical standpoint on the subject - tut tut tut.

I've already explained my points on why I believe WoW is better. Please counter my reasons for why I think WoW - if you can :P (I do not mean to sound arrogant or anything, I just truly don't believe rigid controls are as efficient and take as much (dare I say) skill :P )
