I've been procrastinating on buying a new console (you know, distracted by ArmorGames 'n all).. I've heard good things about both, and both are now in my price range. Right now it seems like Xbox360 is the favorite, but in 5 years which one will be on top? I've always been a PlayStation person, and I feel like it could possibly make a comeback. My PlayStation is also my DVD player, so having that BlueRay would also be nice.. what are the upsides to the 360? And ultimately, which one is better?
The 360 owners make valid points. However, I recieved a PS3 for christmas. I love littlebigplanet and playstation home, as well as uncharted Drakes Fortune and Soul Calibur. PS3 is the winner. Wii sucks.

Both consoles have almost the exact same games, I mean yes, I know there are exceptions like Gears, Halo, MGS, but I mean there nearly exactly the same.
The PS3 has what? Metal Gear, InFamous, Killzone, God of War and Little Big World.
The 360 has Left 4 Dead, Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Mass Effect.
I mean, yes, you do have YOUR favorite games which you'll throw out there saying 'blah this game, blah that.' But, either way games really aren't a factor in why a console is 'better', but I mean, if you want one of the consoles for a certain, by all means buy it, but don't say one's better just because you like the games more, or a console has an EXCLUSIVE.

People, stop just saying the system, give a reason as to why. I'd have to go with the PS3. The graphics are far better, their exclusives are actually exclusive, and it's not a total piece of crap like a 360. My buddy had to get his fixed 4 times. I had to get mine fixed 3 times, and I don't even do anything to it. I have played a PS3 before. My buddy owns one, and it's far better.

I've had my Elite for a few years, and it JUST now got got the red rings. I know people who've had their pro for years and they haven't gotten the red rings.
I mean, if you're xbox fucks up once, get it fixed, twice? Uh, obviously it's time to trash it and get a new one. I would never waste my time having it constantly fixed.
both of my brothers 360s never got the red rings at all, neither did a few of my friends (all of the ones that had 360s) I dont know if i just know really lucky people or not ^.^

Also tryhard1234 I really dont think the menus are that complicated, I mean its really really simple if you understood basic parts of a gaming system( by that i mean like 360 ps3 ps2 ETC) I mean all you really have to do is take it out of the box, hook it all up, make an account, get the latest ps3 system update (if your gonna go online), then put in game and SHABAM! Your good to go. theres just lots of stuff you can customize on a ps3, thats what most of the extra stuff is. also configuring stuff ^.^. I also think that the ps3 games genres (Variety, w/e.) is pretty wide too. Also you can get a pretty cheap ps3 that doesnt have alot of GB in it, as well as a 360. I mean hell, for the 360 you gotta get updates too. They have a wide customization also. Personally I just like the way the ps3 is with all the stuff, as i so far mentioned >.<. Pretty much their both really great systems.
