Portable computers are older than Apple, and other companies make significantly cheaper and better laptops.
one needs only look at the Imac to see my meaning.
The Imac is a non-portable laptop with overheating problems.
there's no point debating the obvious
Clearly its not obvious or we wouldn't be here.
It is functioning as well as a giant, box PC would function, without the box
Except the Apple laptop cost more and has less power. And when the laptop becomes obsolete and you want to upgrade it, you can't. You would have to buy a new one, where as I can just buy a few new parts every couple of years and I'm good.

Cheaper, but better? Have you even used a Mac before? Have you used it for a long time? I know plenty of people who switched from Windows and never went back. There is no Vice-Versa. As for power, I don't use it as a portable computer, I use it as a desktop, which means it's plugged in. Who wouldda thought? When I made a reference to the Imac, I meant not that it's portable, but that it's compact. The monitor is connected with the 'box'. No annoying cables, no having to make space for the processing box, and hey, it's got a huge screen! I certainly haven't seen Microsoft develop a screen with no visible pixels. I haven't even seen them develop a good phone.

Yes, and I hate it. You can pay half the price and get a PC with equal specs, this isn't an exaggeration. Also, almost no customization when it comes to any mac, and any customization is ridiculously more expensive.

So you spent extra money for a portable computer, then even more extra because its an Apple, and it has way less power than a cheaper windows desktop.

My point was that its built with laptop parts, but its meant as a desktop. Though I will admit that is a good monitor, its still overpriced for what it is.

Its also impossible to upgrade or repair, if it breaks or becomes outdated you have to buy a new one.

Guess its a good thing Microsoft has nothing to do with any hardware, they only make software.
As in, the Xbox isn't hardware? It's merely a bunch of data which can interact with the real world by being able to sit on a hard surface? I think it's hardware.
I'm sorry, I thought this debate was about computers, not game consoles. Are you using your xbox as a computer? Also, they don't either make the phones, they make the operating system.

Microsoft buys outside parts and assembles them into xboxs. As far as I know Apple actually makes the monitors.
Because this is the Video Games section, I'd say the PC, for a large amount of customization and a very wide choice of aesthetics. But, for anything OTHER than gaming, I love the Mac for the smoothness, for the awesome mouse and crystal-clear massive screen. But the Mac just seems...wrong for gaming, at least for me. But then again, a lot of games nowadays are being formatted/coded for Mac's and PC's, so really there's no point in arguing.
The reason why macs are better is because most hackers make viruses for PCs because more better have them than mac, so you don't get as many viruses. Most programs don't work as good on the mac because they weren't made for the mac. Most programs for me work just fine for me, like iMovie and Guitar Band and iDVD because they made them for the mac.
