moe, I see that you respond very frequently on this thread, it helps keeping this thread alive and active
I like computers.
Is GiB same thing as GB?
They are often used interchangeably, but are not the same. A GiB is 2^30 bytes, while a GB is 10^9. The GiB is slightly bigger than the GB and as such a lot of companies use GB instead to make their program seem smaller, windows actually uses GiB but labels it GB.
who doesn't like computers, I think they are the best invention ever in technology. Except in some parts of the computer, I am not very good. But I know a lot of shortcuts and solutions, just not good at explaning.
Macs do have their merits: they are far more user-friendly out of the box than PCs are (although this is more because they limit what the user can do than because they are actually user-friendly) and they are less prone to viruses.
By comparison, PCs offer a wider range of software/programs and just overall freedom as to what the user can do with his or her system. They also are easily upgradeable and adaptable to any task (whereas Macs tend to be one-trick ponies).
My main issue with Macs is simple: the marketing. Mac ads and their target audience are the "hipster"/"cool" crowd. Which I have no problem with, that's just how their PR department rolls. My problem is that Macs elevate their crowd by putting down all other computer users (PC users are often portrayed as nerds - and not nerdy like smart tech-lovers, but nerdy like socially inept idiots). Rather ironically, this advertising has led to significant user backlash: not once have I heard a serious programmer ever say he was having problems with his Mac - and that's because not once have I heard any serious programmer or hardcore gamer ever owning a Mac.
The statistics speak for themselves. Macs for the elite; PCs for the rest of us.

They do have an advantage in support and less viruses, but you dont really need to have norton 360 or other proctection plan.
Ok, they are a little bit expensive, but, Macs last a lot longer than pc's.
Here is my little story about how horible HP hardware is. I have an HP windows vista laptop( I don't use it anymore). The thing that connects the screen to the computer broke by itself. It wasn't my fault. It has a huge crack. Ya, so that won't happen with a mac.
My dad owns a computer company and he's partnered with microsoft. The truth is Microsoft offers more than the Mac. Every year something new is created by microsoft and it's partners that make things better for the PC.If you've ever gone to a business meeting hosted by Microsoft, it feels like the future. Actualy it is the future.
You got that backwards. After a few years both a Mac and a PC would be out of date. To update the Mac you buy a WHOLE NEW COMPUTER. To update the PC you only have to buy a part or two. Also I have a PC that was custom built for gaming in 1996 that still works.

Of course, pick one of the worst laptop makers in the industry.

Sure it wasn't.
Ya, so that won't happen with a mac.
Sure, you can't crack a Macs aluminium body, but that same body gives it horrendous overheating problems.
Macs can run windows, so really Mac has more freedom.
The reason you can't run OSX on a Windows PC is because Apple won't let them, so this argument is flawed.

Oh, I'm sorry, i thought we were arguing about Windows, not HP.

I have 6 friends with broken hinges on their macbooks.

This is partly true. After 3 years, the battery in my macbook is still at 88% capacity, which is better than i have seen in other laptops. This isn't true hardware wise though, seeing how macs hardware is outdated to begin with. The hard drive is nothing special either, after 3 years, my mac's hard drive is a piece of crap, and a PC would be in the same situation.
Well, I have always used a PC, and whenever I go over to my friend's house (who has a mac), I find it harder to control. Probably because I don't use Macs that often, but when I go to his house, I don't find a bunch of anti-virus programs... My opinion is mixed.
