Macs don't get viruses. It sounds naive but it's true if you're not a complete internet ignoramus who goes around collecting toolbars and clicking "free iPhone" banners. Mac viruses just aren't very common at all. OS X is also generally a superior, stabler OS than Windows.
That said, you can get a much better PC (spec-wise) for the same price as any given iMac. Apple products are vastly overpriced - fact. They're good, but the price tag is relatively steep. And in a technological environment where your high-end computer is at best mediocre a couple of years later, it's hard to justify that sort of investment.
And security shouldn't be THAT great an issue as a Windows user if you're not stupid and use your antivirus software and whatnot anyway. Plus your gaming options are somewhat limited on the Mac, if that's your thing. Lord knows it used to be mine - I'm typing this on an iMac.
... Wow, saying all this makes me wonder what my next upgrade is going to be. I could get an awesome PC, but the thought of re-learning Windows is daunting. I do like OS X. Ugh.
I love the reassuring sound it makes when I turn on my Windows computer. I don't care how many cool technological advances Apple makes; as long as Windows makes that sound, I'm sticking with it.

I don't get viruses and I have a PC. I stay away from anything that can cause that.

And that's great. I was just saying in general it's really, really hard to get a Mac virus. Viruses shouldn't be a significant issue for a competent user of either operating system.
Im thinking that if you want customization then you should probably get a PC. I am someone that would rather build my own computer instead of going out and buying a built computer. I guess if you aren't like me then you should probably get a Mac. I find that both can be great but I like the interface of Windows more than Mac Os. I prefer windows XP even though it is old but Windows 7 isn't so bad and they seemed to fix those vista problems with 7. I wouldn't recommend upgrading to windows 8 but that's anybodys choice.
Nowadays less people really need a personal computer I only use mine nowadays for typing forum posts and I used to use it for gaming. But with such a high demand for newer technology gaming wise. I would just be losing money upgrading when I could just play games on my Xbox 360. I can also easily check my email and internet with my phone so PC is less innovative. I think that in the future I will just get me a chromebook and handle the gaming for my Xbox.
Although the graphics will always be better for a PC, it isn't that big of a deal anymore. Graphics aren't that ideal in the whole scheme of things. And every PC seems to be outdated after about a year or 2 . In all logical sense no one really needs a computer anymore. We've got the 7-gen Consoles for gaming, We have things like the chromebook or tablets for the internet and then all that really leaves is anyone that uses a server. I figure people will rely less on home computers with all the technological advances that have became prevalent in our society

Only in terms of what is available, they last much longer in terms of what software needs. Like my computer, which is already 2.5 years old and is a prebuilt with low quality parts and a 4-5 year old GPU. It can still play every game out there, not to mention any other program I need. It'll be a year or two before I need a new computer since its not worth upgrading.

We don't yet have anything that can entirely replace computers. You might be able to make the argument for home use, but in truth one computer is significantly cheaper than all the devices required to replace its functions. And we aren't even close to replacing computers in a business setting.
We've got the 7-gen Consoles for gaming
Do you have any idea how much those consoles are holding back gaming?

Exactly what my point is. You will always have to keep updating and updating and then you will need a new update of windows, Some ram here a new Psu here and a new graphics card here. Pretty soon you will have to replace everything or buy a new computer. There has got to be a simpler and cheaper way to do it. Otherwise it becomes constant insanity.

Yes I am aware of that, In a sense you could say that I am taking a neutral position because I love PC gaming, a mouse always has more precision and aiming. A keyborad is better than any thumbstick and yes of course everything is more crystal clear on a PC. More customizable buttons, macros. Profiling precision precision precision. But it get so dang expensive. But the PC is so amazingly epic and faster. I just can't give it up. Sorry im mad right now because I am stuck with this laptop and my desktop was pretty much robbed from me even though it was amazing and super fast. Sigh....................................
